Golborne Sports Junior Football Club was formed in 1992 by Steve Horrigan and Paul Dawson with just 14 or so boys and a couple of enthusiastic parents. The aim then and today is to provide the children within the Lowton & Golborne area with an opportunity to particpate in Football and it's associated activities at an affordable and cost efficient price.

The junior section has now over 240 children involved from the ages or 5 to 17.and is now an integral part of the local community.

We currently have over 18 qualified coaches who all give their time voluntarily and all our coaches are CRB checked. Each year we try and encourage “new” volunteers to attend the FA coaching courses and this constant recruitment and development program helps us to continue to put the "children first"

The Junior Football Club is a not for profit organisation.

Our Ethos

We follow a strong ethos that our priority is to provide the local children with high quality (good) standard of training and we encourage physical activity and more importantly fun.

We also encourage children to participate in football matches in line with the Football Association guidelines for mini and youth football, but whilst we always want our teams and players to do well we think it is vital that all our children know that participation is far more important that a win at all costs attitude.
